Mold containment on the parlor floor of a Brooklyn brownstone
Five boroughs and the counties next door

Quick answer

Ace Mold Restoration covers all five boroughs of New York City from its Midtown office, with separate pages for 15 neighborhoods where old apartment buildings, mold complaints or low-lying basements bring in the most work, plus Nassau County, Westchester County and Yonkers in New York, and Hudson County, Hoboken, Jersey City and Bergen County in New Jersey. Calls are answered 24 hours a day; arrival depends on where you are and what is already scheduled.

Areas we cover

Each page covers what we see there most, which jobs come up, and how the local buildings and weather shape the work.

New York City boroughs

Manhattan

Co-ops, condos, rentals and offices, with stacked-unit leaks and winter condensation.

Brooklyn

Row houses, walk-ups and basements, with storm water and stacked-apartment leaks behind most jobs.

Queens

Flooded basements, sewer backups and the mold that follows, across the borough.

The Bronx

Apartment buildings, HPD violations and winter condensation on older outside walls.

Staten Island

Storm-flooded basements, crawl spaces under older houses and attics with winter condensation.

NYC neighborhoods

Flatbush & Midwood

Prewar elevator buildings and walk-ups, mostly rent-regulated, plus older Midwood houses.

University Heights

Older rented apartment buildings next to the city's top mold-complaint neighborhood.

Tremont & Belmont

Older rented apartments in two of the city's top five mold-complaint neighborhoods.

Concourse & Highbridge

Five- and six-story apartment buildings from the 1920s and 1930s, with risers and roofs behind most jobs.

Bedford-Stuyvesant

Brownstones, row houses and walk-ups, mostly rented, with old roofs and plumbing behind most jobs.

Crown Heights

Row houses split into apartments and walk-ups, with leaks from upstairs behind most jobs.

East Flatbush

Rented apartments and row houses with finished basements, with leaks and storm water behind most jobs.

Mott Haven & Melrose

Almost entirely rental buildings, with leaks, condensation and HPD deadlines behind most jobs.

Parkchester

A 1940s condo complex of 171 buildings, with leaks along shared stacks behind most jobs.

Jackson Heights

Prewar garden co-ops and walk-ups, with risers, old bathrooms and basement units behind most jobs.

Astoria

Rented walk-ups and two-family houses, with old plumbing and basement water behind most jobs.

Inwood

Older rent-stabilized buildings at the top of Manhattan, with risers and cold walls behind most jobs.

Canarsie & Flatlands

Attached houses on sunken lots, with sewer backups and storm water behind most jobs.

Howard Beach & South Ozone Park

Bay surge, tidal flooding and sewer water, cleaned out and dried before mold sets in.

South Beach & Midland Beach

Low-lying East Shore homes and bungalows, with storm floods and the mold after them behind most jobs.

Nearby New York counties and cities

Nassau County

Slab-floor houses with hidden leaks and South Shore homes that took water in Sandy.

Westchester County

River and storm flooding, with mold left in walls that were never opened.

Yonkers

Deep river flooding from the Saw Mill and Bronx rivers, and the mold that follows.

New Jersey

Hudson County, NJ

Low ground and combined sewers: basement backups, storm flooding and the mold after.

Hoboken, NJ

River, rain and combined-sewer backups into garden units and basements.

Jersey City, NJ

Combined-sewer backups in basements and leaks between stacked apartments.

Bergen County, NJ

Low ground along the Hackensack River, fast flooding and the mold left behind.

How far we go, and where coverage ends

Our office is on 6th Avenue in Midtown, which puts every borough within a normal drive, traffic permitting. We take calls across Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, the Bronx and Staten Island every day.

Past the city line we cover Nassau County on Long Island, Westchester County and Yonkers to the north, and across the Hudson, Hudson County, Hoboken, Jersey City and Bergen County. If you are just outside those areas, call and ask; we will tell you plainly whether we can get to you in time.

Inside the city, 15 neighborhoods have their own pages because so much of our mold work comes from them. Most are dense neighborhoods of older rented apartments, led by the ones with the most mold complaints to 311: Flatbush and Midwood, Bedford-Stuyvesant, Crown Heights and East Flatbush in Brooklyn; University Heights, Tremont and Belmont, Concourse and Highbridge, Mott Haven and Melrose and Parkchester in the Bronx; Jackson Heights and Astoria in Queens; and Inwood in Manhattan. Three are low-lying areas where basements flood and back up: Canarsie and Flatlands, Howard Beach and South Ozone Park and South Beach and Midland Beach on Staten Island.

Water damage is the one job where distance matters most, because drying has to start within a day or two. When you call, we give you a real arrival window rather than a promise, so you can decide.
